Julian Optical Coating Luminous Powder is compatible with various liquid materials. Available in over 20 color variations. Classified into oil-based and water-based types. Suitable for diverse processes including spraying, brushing, painting, printing, and electrostatic powder spraying.

Usage Method (Luminous Paint Production)
Note: Julian specializes in supplying luminous powder for paint formulations.
Luminous paint is manufactured by mixing luminous powder, organic solvents, and additives at specific ratios using specialized processing techniques.


1. Resin and Varnish Selection
(1) Resins must exhibit high light transmittance. Luminous paint forms translucent films after curing.

  • Critical: Resin/varnish color affects luminescent brightness. Prioritize colorless, transparent resins.
    (2) As luminous powder is weakly alkaline, use neutral or weakly alkaline resins.

2. Luminous Powder
(1) Recommended content: 15%–50% (optimal: 30%).

3. Additive Selection
(1) Key additives: Dispersant (1% methyl silicone oil in xylene solution) and anti-settling agent (fumed silica).

4. Manufacturing Process Guidelines
Production technology directly impacts luminescence and coating performance. Strictly control:
(1) Use glass or enamel-lined containers for mixing.
(2) Maximize powder fineness for uniform dispersion.
(3) Avoid grinding; use high-speed stirring.
(4) Prevent settling (powder density ≈3.6) with anti-settling agents to extend shelf life.
(5) Never use heavy metal compounds as additives.

5. Application & Precautions
(1) Apply via brushing, spraying, or scraping.
(2) For spray applications:

  • Apply white reflective undercoat to enhance brightness.

  • Topcoat with varnish to improve gloss and abrasion resistance.
    (3) Optimal film thickness: 100–150 μm (best cost-performance balance).
    (4) Adjust viscosity and stir uniformly before use.
